Elopement Ideas With A Canoe: Styled Shoot

Elopement Ideas With A Canoe: Styled Shoot

A lakeside styled shoot. Models on a boat. And talented vendors to make the vision pop. How could I resist?!

As a videographer, there are many challenges that come with crafting a mock wedding into a film. There aren't speeches to form a narrative, and there are typically no guests to add to the film's atmosphere. Though with all these absences in a styled shoot, I truly believe this backyard setup to be a dream for any aspiring wedding designer, planner, and couple.

The talent onboard was truly fantastic, specifically the models who brought this setting to life. Brittany and Mitchell are 3-years married (celebrating their anniversary just a day prior to this shoot), which made this ambience even more believable as a real elopement. Their chemistry is unbeatable, and their willingness to accentuate the dress, suit, décor, and table setting could not be better on film.

This backyard elopement is such a wonderful vision during these unknowing times. I knew I had to make this film a little different. The general narrative of my accompanying video is very much associated with the mysterious zeitgeist we are currently living, especially surrounding the ambiguity of having loved ones near us. When you watch this film, I really challenge the viewer to think of lost time with loved ones, and how intimate and short moments can truly make a difference to our emotional attachment to those closest to us.
