Originally a brand photography shoot, this quickly turned into a boudoir video session with Mallory Rowan and Josh Reyes.

From brand content creation to a fashion-styled shoot, I couldn't help but work with these two in more of a "wedding" style setting. This is evidently not a wedding / proposal / engagement shoot, but it was their chemistry off-camera together that begged for more.

Thankfully I arrived with both my photography and videography setup:
the Leica SL2,
Atomos Ninja V, and
Voigtlander 28mm f2.0.
This was all that I needed to produce this handheld-video.

In hindsight, I'm glad I really knew this couple beforehand. I've never done a boudoir-styled video shoot prior to this, and I can see this scenario being difficult to handle without preparation. Thankfully, I've known both Mallory and Josh for years and I could quickly gauge their dynamic together – the only new factor was the extreme intimacy.

Getting 'intimate' on camera can be a delicate matter for both the couple and person behind the camera. The number one thing anyone can do before coming into a shoot like this is get to know the people you're working with.

Being aware of others' limits (as well as what their wants) makes the recording process a lot smoother for everyone involved.
