Luxe Duo Music at Riverwood Gardens

Wedding Reception Editorial

I do have to say I’m proud of this final film in collaboration with Rosielle + Co photographer :) Let me give you some background:

INSPIRATION FOR CREATIVES

As with most styled wedding shoots, inspiration for the final work comes in the moment. You may not know everyone until the day-of, and the chemistry between the models is dependent on their personalities. Get to know them and your team as soon, and as deeply, as you can. Inspiration is perishable, so act on it right away.

With this shoot, it was their musical synchronicity that made Luxe Duo Music different in my eyes. So that became the hook: synchronicity.

The look of Riverwood Gardens also brought a surreal feeling in its mythical-like fauna, so the addition of “dreamlike” was added to my mental pitch.

And lastly, my request for Schubert’s Ständchen made their sound very “uncanny” for a wedding shoot.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To me, synchronicity + dreamlike + uncanny pointed to one place of inspiration that still haunts me 2 years after seeing it. The Haunting of Hill House, the masterful Netflix series, was my underlying inspiration. Editing this in October also added to the motivation. Although there aren’t any jump scares, there are a few times I allude to the horror genre (a la drapery in the background).

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

INSPIRATION FOR COUPLES

In the midst of confusion everywhere, bringing yourselves together and working with your unique personalities is what pushes you through. Look around you, and observe inside. What magic do you see in your partner? There is creativity waiting to be released in everything. Whether you’re dealing with a postponed wedding, or trying to plan your future home, creative solutions come from combining different ideas, memories, skills, and thoughts.

Working with Aaron

I'm a wedding filmmaker born-and-raised out of the gritty, charming, and sometimes wholesome city of Hamilton, Ontario. For the past 6 years, I've been shooting events and weddings professionally from Niagara to Toronto and Ottawa to Montreal, and I've realized that the most impactful films are those that spring out of an understanding of human love.

From having the opportunity to interview and capture musical artists like Post Malone, Sean Leon, Lights, and The Washboard Union, to popular activists like David Suzuki and Hasan Minhaj, I always see their love on camera. The fire in their eyes comes from loving what they do.

And when a couple is directed based on their emotional connection, the more true and raw the film becomes.

They emit a genuine smile to all things in front of them, act with noticeable kindness, and are reminiscent of what only top Hollywood actors can embody.

It is my job as your wedding filmmaker to make this come true.

I can’t wait to hear from you!
